Scythian belt

This Scythian belt was created for a reenactment group. The belt was made for a female warrior as when the Scythians engaged at war, almost the entire adult population, including a large number of women, participated in battle. The belt was decorated with two Scythian lions on each end. The lions were carved onto the leather and then given an antique gold look. The entire belt is lined with thin goat and has a vegetable tanned binding. Two foldable leather flaps were added so that the belt could be adjustable. This way this beautiful belt can be worn both over a thick breastplate and on its own over clothing.

We work closely with the Greek historical association Koryvantes, following their recommendations on period specific design, construction and artistic interpretation.
